I have one of these, the older model. We get 60-100 mile gusts regularly. We had it on schedule 80 pipe, which actually bent back a bit in the harder winds, and let the blades hit the pole. I replaced blades twice. Get a stronger pole. We actually had to trim an inch off the tips to slow it down, but the newest tech says with the new blade design, it can handle the harder winds. I will be replacing my blades with those.

Right know eolic energy is better than solar, for the simple one made solar panels are too expensive due to low efficiency of 13 or 14%, compared to 35 to 45% of eolic energy conversion rate. Of course solar is the ideal but not for now, sorry. All renewable energy are welcome, each one has its place. if Air turbines anyway are most applied around the world is for something. Excuse my bad english, I'm Venezuelan.
