  • I'm a midwife, & a mother of 3...all hospital births mind you, & all I want to know is who is considering the rights of the unborn child here?

Surely the child deserves the best of care, close at hand, in case there are unforseen problems!!

For me, the safety of my child would always be the most important thing, not the "experience" of the birth....

  • That's the nice thing about living in Germany. I had 2 hospital and one home birth. All were covered by my insurance. No problems what so ever.

  • good on ya guys!!

  • and why is that?

people like me who have done lots of research, tried both options (one hospital and one home) and come to an intelligent conclusion.

I would be more inclined to say that closed minded people who are not willing to listen to other opinions or even the reaserch and who want to take away personal freedoms shoudl be stopped.

  • People like you must be stopped.

  • mostly because it isn't dangerous Aussie

  • it is not "virtually impossible" it IS impossible

  • Yes exactly the registry required insurance and it was virtually impossible to get. It is possible to get insurance for anything if you are willing to pay premiums you simply have to contract directly with a willing insurance company however the premiums may be enormous.

Just because an insurance product isn't available retail doesn't mean it can't be contracted.

Hell I'd be willing to start up and insurance company for home birth midwives with a $1 million per year base premium per customer.
