I see you let the 140 do some easy work on your place. That's nice of you. The Vanguard sounds pretty good. Can't wait to get my 314 finished and hear that sound.

thats a nice tractor, but i just would have rebuilt the kohler. it was probably tired, being 40 years old. i have a 112 and i replaced the engine with a low time shortblock. made a huge difference.

great job just need the original engin..John deere tractors are just like the enegizer bunny the keep going and goping and going!

same as mine execpt i got a 16 hp twin with a stack

nice tractor, i have a 112 gear drive. i usually mow in 3rd gear which is medium ground speed. it doesnt make sense to mow in the highest speed, you will get a better cut at lower speeds.

Thanks it's got a new 2 cylinder Briggs 18hp engine in it. Made a different rig out of it.

It will mow as fast as the tractor will go - but what's the point? The ground is a bit rough and grandpa is trying to teach him to be careful and to respect the machinery so it will last another 40 years.
That's what grandpa's do you know... :-)
