Valentina Lisitsa / Solotake Recordings Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #3

Valentina Lisitsa - filmed by Pieter de Rooij - doing a few solo take recordings of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3 in the Abbey Road Studios, London, 9 december 2009, as part of her Rachmaninoff recording project with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Francis and produced by Michael Fine. During two weekends, one in september 2009 and one in december 2009, Valentina recorded Rachmaninoff's piano concerti 1 to 4, followed in March 2010 by Rachmaninoff's Paganini Variations.

@pokey303 : Your question is totally valid and justified. While so many people all over the world are eager to hear and buy Val's Rachmaninoff-project recordings, it's almost Kafka-esque to see how at least one big label is NOT dealing with it. As far as I know Deutsche Grammophon (DG) has the recordings on its desk for over a year now, without taking any action. Outrageous, isn't it? @ReubenD99 I was referring to the fact that, despite her enormous popularity on youtube, Valentina does not have a major recording contract. Hard to believe considering her incredible talent. On the other hand, I kinda like her status as a "cult" hero of the classical world, and I don't give a shit if she records with some label as long as she keeps posting these videos.

DG can go screw themselves. I don't know about you guys, but I kinda like having Valentina as the best-kept secret in classical music.
