10 Greatest Skylines In The World - Video Collection

This is the collection of professional and amateur videos, collected from YouTube, and produced in iMovie 09 with over 60 clips.
The video ranks cities by the visual impact of their skyline. Reference table is available at http://www.emporis.com/en/bu/sk/st/sr/.
Each building with 12 or more floors in the city proper is assigned points based on its floor count (see the table on emporis.com). The point total for each city is calculated automatically. Calculation does not include TV towers, masts, bridges, or other structures. The listing actually puts Guangzhou on the tenth position, and Dubai on eleventh, but this will change shortly, after Burj Dubai's official opening.
List of cities goes as followed:
10-Dubai, 9-Bangkok, 8-Tokyo, 7-Shanghai, 6-Seoul, 5-Sao Paulo, 4-Chicago, 3-Singapore, 2-New York City, 1-Hong Kong
All footage is either amateur or pro video from airplanes, helicopters & other vertical moving vehicles/objects, so you only see the city from above, and through a moving angle. It is all about looking down on the skyscrapers.

I dont know if I'd say Seoul, Tokyo and Sao Paulo have great skylines....Amazingly dramatic when looking at the sheer size of their sprawl, yes, but skyline worthy? A lot of those buildings are just commie blocks and rental apartment buildings. I mean, if you didnt tell me i was looking at Seoul, i would not have been able to distinguish that between any other large east asian city. There is nothing iconic or postcard worthy that jumps out at me about those 3 cities, just amazingly high density.

Bangkok not small like this video, large city, skylines are many zone, still have many new project each year. compare to other city almost stable, except city in China.

Everyone who likes cities will have their own subjective list. That's the reason I took the official Emporis list as a base, their criteria makes sense, don't you think?
