SBA and ADP present America's Best: Their Stories, Their Ways. Among the largest African-American owned and operated media corporations in the United States, Radio One was started by Catherine L. Hughes in 1980. Radio One owns and/or operates 53 radio stations located in 16 urban markets in the United States. The company One received investments totaling $9.5 million from SBA-licensed SBICs in the late 1990s. Hughes also received an SBA-guaranteed 7(a) loan for $600,000 in 1980.
How many great artists are not heard and you turn away on Radio One?!? You are a bad business opportunity. I'll go to Kiss fm Radio station instead. Keep your Home Jams. You are like the banks that turned you down. Your station turn down well deserved artists. I hope one day soon a real Hip-Hop station comes and put all of you out of business who has destroyed creative music. You discriminate against your own people!
