  • chi is better i own both the ghd and chi.i cant stand the ghd its horrible.i'll stuck to my chi.

  • @k4t5 It really is a personal preference. I meet people on both sides all the time. I have had the CHI and the GHD and I must say I am in love with my GHD-but how your straightener performs depends on a lot of things like hair texture and health and also the styling products you use (if any) to straighten your hair. It is hard to say what straightener is best for everyone because we all have different hair. However when my GHD is put to the test it never fails me. Glad the CHI works for you!

  • If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.

    I hope this helps.

  • @askvivi1 yes this is why I ended up hating my CHI painted ceramic plates hated it. I have never heard of this iron but I for now my heart is with the GHD, sorry I'm hard to sway :) but thanks for the info

  • good review thanks :)

  • ok i did watch your vid and i do own a ghd but clamping on the plates hard like that brakes the plates like itll start chiping off at the top

  • @apesoncrack Well that is good to know! Actually I was using it on my mom's hair the other day and it didn't seem as hot as when I use it on my hair. I guess that is one more reason to be in love with my GHD. Thanks for the info!

  • @cowens87 its actually true, my friend has been owning all ghd products, (well nearly all) and it really does adjust to your hair type, like she was using it, and she has thin, smooth and wavy hair and we (tried) felt the temp, and it wasnt REALLY hot or anything, then i used it on my bushy, thick, wavy hair and it was a lot hotter!

    SERIOUSLY, ITS AMAZING!!

  • @konomi811 I don't know about the temp adjusting to hair type, but whatever it does it is awesome!!! I wouldn't be surprised if it did do that because my hair needs some serious heat and it does seem to put the maximun heat on my hair lol!!! Excited you got one!!!

  • I just bought me one for christmas and I can't wait to use it. :) I don't know what the highest temp setting is, but I read that the ghd can tell what your hair texture is and automatically adjust the heat setting to your hair. So if you have thin hair, the temp will lower and if you have thick course hair, it will adjust to a higher temp. It's the reason I bought it, so I don't have to guess. :) Anyway thanks for the review. Happy Holidays!
