  • No I don't, sorry.

  • Nice background music from "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind".

  • How is it that this wonderful skater finished behind Oksana Baiul? Her jumps were much better and she did a combination. Oksana was very artistic - but so was Lu Lu. I think I would have given Surya the gold, based on the difficulty of her program, but Lu Lu would have been a very strong silver. Oksana should have received the bronze.

  • Clearly more difficult than Baiul's program jump-wise but also in terms of choreography: more sophisticated, more difficult music to skate to. I wouldn't have argued with awarding Lu the title.

  • skating becomes very beautiful when you hear beautiful music like this .

  • This program should have definitely beaten Oksana...it was mature, lyrical, and technically more difficult

  • ナウシカだ

  • wow she threw in the flip right at the end after she missed the first one ... amazing

  • @pellebravesskylar What I've noticed about the ladies is that in order to be at the top you must be excellent in jumping and in one other fields (ie artistry, spins, flexibility). Yuna Kim has two of them--jumping and artistry and that's why she's able to be on top... Unfortunately there has never been a ladies skater who has excelled in everything--high jumps, fast spinning, great flexibility, and amazing basics. Yuna Kim comes closest at the moment.

  • @USAGymnast All I can say is thank God for the new points system. I don't think a lot of the skaters back then would've been on the podium if it had been in place at that time.

  • Oksana's first two jumps in her program were good quality. Her performances at the Olympics was a bit better but she didn't deserve to win there either.

  • yes, she did 6 and Baiul did 5.

  • Probably! I have a question for skating experts out there - I love Yu Na Kim - but what is it about her skating that draws such high scores, especially in the short program? Her jumps are tight and textbook - no flutzing with this young lady. She is definitely musical and lyrical. I'm not as impressed with her spins and spirals, though. Is it the perfection of her jumps and the difficulty of her entries and superb landings that sets her apart? Or is it something in addition to that?
