Bella's life is at a low when Edward leaves her and she soon learns that she can hear his voice when she does dangerous things. With the memory of his fading fast this is all she has left. She dives of a cliff not to kill herself just to hear his voice.
Alice sees Bella fall in her visions, but doesn't see that she is safe. She comes back to Forks where she finds Bella alive. Edward hears about the fall and Roselie tells him that Bella is dead. He phones Charlie, but Jacob Black answers to tell him that Charlie is at the funeral. Edward then decides it is his time to die now that he believes Bella is dead. Alice sees what Edward is planning and it is then up to her and Bella to go and stop him.
