I've been listening to this song for about 15 years or so and I still get a thrill every time I hear it. I'm a musician, and this song is still an inspiration! An experiment with acid was boosted with this song turned up loud!

@Krispaulsaenen for me the acid didnt help....i found that i never really needed the ohm for this song to be fully understood...in away in the right setting (like the dawn of late summer/early autumn and the right set of input's i.e. speakers or headphone's)would be all i needed to travel far...lol..after a heavy night this would be the perfect come down/outer-body experience i would and have ever needed.....now where is that mix of this...well better keep looking..thanks for posting history..

I'd spend hours during long journeys in the car playing this....building alien landscapes in my head, populated by shapes whose form and movement was dictated by the sounds that elicit them. i still listen to these tracks today and still see the same shapes and places. wonderful music.
(*correction: U.F.ORB)

I first heard music by The Orb when I was 8. My Dad, who was into a huge variety of music, had the U.F.OFF album on a tape in the car and we drove from the middle of the UK (Nottingham) to the south of France and back. This tape never left the car stereo.
After that, this tape came with me everywhere on my walkman. I remember being 9 and going on a school trip down some caves in England (the Treak Cliff Cavern...ie. the blue john mines) and having this as a soundtrack in my head.

this is nothing else but door of dimension

@h14nha That's nice. I used to lay on my bed looking out the skylight at the stars, listening to this. My parents were fighting downstairs, on the edge of divorce, but with The Orb, I was totally safe.

Its astonishing this album got to number 1 in the uk album charts back in the summer of 1992 and sold over 150.000 records in its first week. I cant think of any other artist in this whole genre of left-field electronic music who has ever done that before.
Most unconventional number 1 album ever.

amazing video! best track on the album
This track is beautiful, it reminds me in an odd way of the alienation I first felt when I went to the huge shopping mall in Milton Keynes

Do you mean by the consumerist atmosphere of a mall? If so, I definitely know what you mean, I live in the US.

Yup, the consumerism, the alienation, the complete removal from what's real except for 'products', but especially all that glass, steel, fake marble, fake air, and space above you. In a crowd but isolated....

Yeah man. I JUST STARED IN MY REFRIDERATOR FOR FIVE MINUTES AND I NOTICED THINGS IVE NEVER NOTICED BEFORE. Sorry i had to say that, im high and drunk. Anyway, seriously though, I did an essay for college last quarter on the psychological stuff in advertising. Did you know some ads attmed to give you false memoies, like placing their product in a generic childhood experience. Wow I can type pretty good when i feel like cotton candy.
