My dog recovered beautifully after TPLO surgery. The first week was SO hard, it really took months to recover. It's been 6 months and she has full use of her leg. You can't even tell which leg had the surgery! I had a wonderful vet too (Specialty, had to drive an hour to him) .

This video made me smile! My dog is scheduled for her TPLO two weeks from today. I know it will be a long road, but I am hoping it'll all be worth it. She's only 3.5 years old and keeping her calm for 3-4 months will be hell!

This video is amazing....I was so moved I cried...we are 4 days post op and I have been feeling like we are hindering her recovery by babying her too much...after watching this video I will be making sure to let her lead the way and stop carrying all her weight with the sling. Thanks! Our dogs are our babies and there is nothing we could not do for them. Best of luck

Our german shepherd Hannah is having her TPLO surgery on Tuesday morning so we are very concerned. After seeing how fast your dog healed and was up and around, I feel so much more at ease now. I will be using a sling but as of right now , I don't know how long she'll need it. Looking at this video, not that long. Our dog is just 7 yrs old and this is the first major surgery she's had besides her spaying when she was 5 months old. Thank you for putting your story out here to help ease others .

@pulcesullosclerotto I was just concerned if your dog has fully recovered please update if you can? I work for a veterinarian and we do this TPLO procedure and we have a recovery time back to regular activity at around 12-16wks or 3-4 months. Also thank everyone for the great stories and I love to hear that so many ppl are happy with the surgery. Much love to all, that love their furry friends.
Little Brother was watched by a friend when we took Maggie to the vet hospital and then brought her home next day. I've said this before but it's worth mentioning again - For the first 24-48 hours after TPLO there will be a LOT of pain, they don''t always tell you that. Let the vet know you want something STRONG for your furkid. Trust me on this. My partner actually crashed on floor beside Maggie for two nights, she was hurting so bad. By the 3rd day she was much better. Good luck!

Your dog should be much better by now. You need to find a different vet for a second opinion.

Great video! My dog Leeloo is 5 weeks post-op, and will need other knee done soon (she already much prefers to use the repaired leg.) It's so encouraging to see Maggie's complete recovery!
This gives me so much hope that Leeloo will ba back at top speed soon, too!

Sounds like Leeloo is getting plenty of support from you. That's great. I attribute Maggie's full recovery to the fact that we didn't rush her during the recuperation period - but we didn't hold her back, either! Good luck! Max

What a beautiful dog she is!! My dog is 4 weeks post TPLO and is also doing great. It's great to see that Maggie is running and playing again ! My poor dog is going to have to go through it again with the other leg also.
Anyways, it's really great to see this video and I am glad to see ho well your dog recovered!

I'm so sorry to hear that your dog will have be going through this again - although I understand it's not uncommon for the second knee to go out after the first. Thanks for your kind words about the video.
