Check radial (up-down) runout by placing block under rear of spinning tire and check the gap between the block and the tire tread area. This gap shouldn't exceed 0.1 inches for most passenger car tires. Any more than 0.1 inches of radial runout can be felt as a vibration in many cars with stiff sidewall tires, stiff springs, and/or sport-tuned suspensions. Softer sprung/heavier passenger cars with tall flexible sidewall tires might be ok with slightly more runout.

  • i go back and get them to spin the tyre on the rim then reinflate and balance then check again tip when mounting new tyres remove the valve core and seat the tyre to max pressure then replace the valve core and adjust pressure. i used this method for years with new tyres and rarely had tto add more than 10 grms to the balance

  • cool.
