  • @thatissomeBS I'm not sure if you can call "jam band" a genre, or if so, Phish somehow doesn't fit. They play an eclectic variety of musical styles but they're predominately a cross between Rolling Stones-y rock, Talking Heads inspired funk and proggy goofiness. Your typical Phish show is only like 20% improv, but they're the best live rock show going right now.

  • Phish is headlining multiple sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden leading up to New Years Eve yet again this year, and once again drew tens of thousands of people to a field for a single band last summer.

Tons of artists are better live than in the studio. I'm not sure why you think that's such a rare thing? Pretty much every punk, funk, go-go (crazy syncopated funky music from dc), or jamband, a wide variety of electronic performers and rock bands.

  • @thatssomeBS check out the Avett brothers

  • Great!!!

  • @DaMickster I haven't been to near enough big name concerts. It's hard to find good concerts here in western Iowa.

  • @thatissomeBS Boston, ZZ Top, The Smiths, The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Alarm, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Pretenders (though not consistently), PIL, Alien Sex Fiend (though infamously not consistently), U2, just to name a few. How many shows have you seen?

  • Where can one find the entire film?

  • @taylor410ce I definitely have respect for Derek Trucks; and Tre. I'm just not a huge fan of the jam band genre.

  • @thatissomeBS music like any other form of art is all about personal taste, so there really isn't a right or wrong answer to your "dare" and if it wasn't for phish than i wouldn't be watching this video. Also i don't see how you can't at leaste respect Derek Trucks.

  • @taylor410ce Sorry, I said current band, which also implies relevancy.

Naah... I'm just kidding. I'm not much of a jam band fan though. Haven't paid much attention to Phish or DTB. My roommate (a complete Phishead) is trying to sway me but it hasn't really worked yet.
