I loved that quote! I admire your willingness to get into things (: I agree that people are often hesitant to accept happiness, and I often find myself doing just that. Still, I try to resist whenever I realize that I'm holding myself back from a possibly good situation.

@TheGiraffeHat I don't think that just because the first relationship is the easiest to trust and not worry about heartbreak it will be the best relationship, though that is an interesting thought. Also, lots of people experience heartbreak without even being in a relationship (unrequited love and such). Most people eventually learn not to lose faith in everyone because of one relationship or person that hurt them.
I'm very glad you don't regret it.
Mary, you are teh smarts. ^_^

@MimmbleMimmble haha, aw. I am resisting the urge to just right 'NO YOU ARE.' since that would totally undo any illusion of smartness that I have managed to construct =P

dear mary (*:.. mh, it's not that i don't long for happiness. everyone does, somehow. but happiness is not satisfaction. i don't think that you can call it happiness, when you talk about a long time period. happiness, for me, is something so deep... so deep that you just can't feel it day after day. but you can be satisfied with the way everything is, of course. but i don't like satisfaction, i don't want it. it's boring.

@yesnomaybesophie I agree with you actually. A better way to describe it would be long term contentedness. Though I don't really think that necessarily means that everything is the way you want it to be, so there is usually still something to strive for which keeps life interesting. I do understand what you mean though. It would be weird to be completely satisfied for a long time and there's a risk of growing stagnant.
