The Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus consists of 220 Jesuits serving in a number of ministries including six high schools (St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati; Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory in Indianapolis; Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory School, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, Loyola Academy, and St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago), two universities (Loyola University Chicago and Xavier University in Cincinnati), and one nativity-model college prep middle school (Chicago Jesuit Academy). Province ministries include parishes, two retreat houses and a non-for-profit publishing enterprise, Loyola Press. Chicago area ministries include Loyola University Medical Center, Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House, Charis Ministries, Cook County Hospital Chaplains, and St. Procopius Parish. In addition, the province recruits and provides spiritual and educational formation for young Jesuits to serve future generations, as well as providing for all health care needs of senior Jesuits. The Chicago Province includes Chicago, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis, though Jesuits from the Province serve throughout the United States, Peru, India, and Nepal.
