Author and internationally award winning digital artist Angie Jordan creates Leonardo da Vinci in the style of the Mona Lisa with a digital twist. Though this is slightly sped up, Angie leaves everything in, including a few revisions of the background. She wanted to show the full thought process of her artwork and that not all art is perfectly thought out ahead of time, but sometimes interesting variations inspire the artist as they draw.
This was drawn for the international, Official Painter Magazine, based in London. Angie was commissioned to publish four art-study subjects for this issue. The first was Leonardo da Vinci. You can read the entire art study in Issue 32 of Painter Magazine (July 2009) to read the details as you watch this screencast.
This was created in Corel Painter on a Cintiq 21UX digital tablet using a Mac.
