amp:command used,fender like showman,bandmaster,deluxe reverb,twin reverb.
effect:reverb it's necessary if affordable,fender reverb tank is best choice,or danelectro spring king(it's nice and cheap)

hello tony,to my knowledge,surf guitarist seldom used semi hollow type guitar,one more thing ,inexpensive guitars can give more surf tone such as hofner,jazzmaster/jaguar from fender Japan,yamaha sgv,around 300~700USD.
generally traditional surf guitar like fender jazzmaster/jaguar,strat,mosrite,yamaha sg2~7/sgv series

Very good stuff. I love it. Especially the use of relatively inexpensive guitars like the telestar. I am thinking of buying a telestar kawai (semi hollow). Would that give a good surf tone?
