Many illustrators wet-mount paper onto masonite for painting in oils, but there are few videos of the process. Here's mine. More art and stuff at http://gallegosart.com

  • thanks man. Say if you have the sketch printed on the paper already, should you then give some coating on the paper before you go to oils? Like give a layer coating with pva?

    thanks.

  • @lucaddragon Yes absolutely, never paint in oils on raw paper. (Sorry for the delay in responding, wasn't let to know about the comment).

  • Very good video and helpful. Just curious what kind of size do you use. I know gesso can be used but I have used a great combination of denatured alcohol and orange or clear shellac. What would you recommend? I wonder if it matters if the sizing comes first or after mounting on the hardboard? Thanks!

  • Very nicely done.

    Thank you

  • very informative, thank you!
