@pancakitty I agree. If Metallica started out with The Black Album, Load, and Reload, and then went to a heavier sound with Kill Em' all, they would say Metallica sold out with the thrash albums. It's foolish how people think the only way a band can be good is to stick with one style.

Metallica ripped off just about every band there is, even on DM there's clear rip offs like Steve Via etc.. Hit the Lights was a rip off of Weapon Set the Stage Alight, Seek And Destroy was stolen from Saxon Princess of the Night & so on. but I do like older Metallica and even some DM just don't like this stuff can't get in to it, They went grunge during this era and then St. Anger they tried to be NU metal.. just stick with Metal.

@crazyhawk59 Metallica ripped off STP, STP ripped off Danzig and Danzig ripped off Led Zeppelin. I'm sure there are other bands in between who used a similar riff to this too.

I could care less if close minded people sit and cry foul at Metallica branching out. They've always said they hate being defined and confined by anything other than simply being "Metallica". This is a beautiful and moving piece of music. If you don't like it, at least respect it. For me, it's damn good.

Personally, i judge the music for what it is. Metallica may be a thrash/heavy/pop/blues or whatever you wanna call it metal band. But this is an awesome hard rock song and album. I just love it :D
