  • @UltimaPowers Point well taken. I should have said that it doesn't have to progress rather then it shouldn't or can't. I'm more or less used to hearing the type of hip-hop that people tend to have little respect for which involves rhyming over a 45 second loop. Some people can pull it off well, though a large portion can't.

  • @Magus12000BC "Beat" in a hip hop context can refer to either the rhythm track or the entire track itself. But the point of confusion for me was perhaps my interpretation of 'Remix', I'd class this more as a 'mash-up', but maybe because I used to DJ so my brain thinks in these weird musical catergories. If you don't think a beat should 'progress' then you're missing out on a wealth of amazing, musical niceness; CunninLynguists, Hilltop Hoods, Aim, RJD2, People Under the Stairs, DJ Shadow.

  • I like this version better! others I heard sound like techno.

  • @UltimaPowers It's called a "beat" for a reason. It's not supposed to progress musically. It's merely a backdrop to lay rhymes down on top of. That's the formula of rap.

  • Kickass I luv it.great job

  • actually, i just listened again, sounds straight out of new york, like maybe das efx would spit on this and be killer

  • @UltimaPowers checked it out, i can feel you on the progression, and thats a sick version as well, but something with drop bass and i just dont mix you know? this version has an old school west coast vibe to me, which kinda drew me in

  • @mightywaffle51 I prefer drop bass's bootleg version myself, search 'drop bass matlock'; it should be the top result. This is good, but doesn't really progress musically, it just takes the original and puts a beat to it. That drop bass track tears the roof off.

  • Yo man if we credit you...do you mind if my boy and I use this on our tape?

  • i used these i hope you dont mind, check it out /watch?v=q_L25XwjSxU
