Home made roller mill for grain... I built this from the ground up and I'm quite satisfied the way it's working so far.. In this vid I'm rolling barley, but I've tested it on corn, oats and wheat and it worked fine on all. I'm powering it with our lathe which is a 3Hp motor driven by a 2Hp solid state invertor running at 90Hz for a final RPM of approximately 400 RPM. At that rate the throughput is about 5-10 lb/min, while if I ran it of a 540 RPM PTO, the rollers would be running at about 1200 RPM, which would mean a throughput of 20 lb/min isn't unreasonable, at which point you're going to be plenty busy keeping it full.
It took me about a week of drafting (Autocad 3D model), 2 evenings of machining the rollers (they're complex), 2 evenings for building the hopper, and another 2 evenings to make the frame and other parts
