Hey I'm Madison Girifalco. I am a student at Loyola University Chicago, and a member of a student organization called Invisible conflicts.
Invisible Conflicts works to raise awareness to social issues around the world that are neglected by our media.
Specifically Invisible Conflicts has been deeply involved in raising awareness to a war that has been going on for over 20 years in Uganda Africa
Our goal is to help the people of Ugandan help themselves.
To achieve this goal our organization has created in office in Gulu, Uganda called the Dwon Madiki Partnership.
The partnership is a program connecting communities in Uganda and the United States by sponsoring the education of 20 war affected children.
The DMP provides an after-school program, mentoring, art therapy and academic tutoring
Because it has been said over and over again, that the only way for the next generation of Ugandan children to succeed is through education.
The program is now in its second year and although we have made outstanding progress, our volunteers and staff in Uganda are still asking for help in
establishing the office.
This is where we come in. Litterally.
This summer a group of Loyola Students are planning to take the 20 hour journey to Uganda
to help establish the office and make connections with our friends overseas.
I have been following this issue for over two years, and I am ready to take this step too.
I want to go to the place that I've seen in the movies, and visit the people I've been reading about in the paper.
This is where you come in
To get to Uganda its going to cost about $3000!
I am asking for two simple things.
One: to show this video to anyone and everyone you can
And two: to provide me any sort of contribution to get me one step closer to achieving my 3000 dollar goal
Many people feel that they can't make a difference. Heres a chance to prove them wrong.
Help me get to Uganda, Help send me on my way.
