Cold start and drive of a 95 International 3800 Chasis, with a DT-408 diesel (not a DT-466 )and an Allison automatic. The temperature was in the 30's at the time.

The 408 sounds like a mixture of the 360 and 466. Love the sound.

I run an internatonal with a DT408. Never heard of a DT406. Nice sounding bus anyway!

wow a 406 I knew that engine was made but none of my school districts 90-99 model internationals always had 466E or 466 which I have been told are technically the same motor

@schindlerman96 I think the DT-406 is smaller than the DT-466. It was only made for a couple of years. It has decent power, but I believe a DT-466 has more power. Or, the fuel filters need changing...

@studpuppy69 It is smaller and less powerful. The 408 is 408 ci/6.7L and the 466, 466E, and the MaxxForce DT are 466 ci/7.6L
