As part of a worldwide conservation effort, scientists at the National Zoo breed endangered species for the purpose of re-introducing them to nature. Produced for Public Television by Great Museums TV.
@dre27321 Have you been? For people visiting DC, it's just a little over 3 miles from the White House - a pretty straight shot up Connecticut Avenue and Metro-accessible!
A Zoo is the perfect hypocrisy. We cannot stop slaughtering as much animals as we can, so let's put one or 2 of a species in a cage for our amusement untill they finally die.
Giant panda's will become extinct, their skin is just too valuable for our sick species. You cannot care for both nature and society, it's like wanting to get into both heaven and hell
This is just like playing God, only without the limitless power to make a lasting difference
A very educational video. I have never visited the Smithsonian National Zoo but I surely want to. I am going to make it my new year resolution 2011 to do so. Educating ourselves on the plight of species is a very important step for future generations. Our young people will learn and help endangered species to be released into their natural habitat. Everything has a purpose on this planet and the sooner we all realize this the more harmonized our world will be and our planet will be. Like Eden.
I've been on Youube for a couple of years now and for the first time i pushed the shows button on my site and i found all these documentires and other programs this is pretty cool Thanks for this post!
