EVE Online: Combat Mission Demonstration

This is a demonstration of myself doing a level 2 combat mission in the game EVE Online, so that people new to the game, or thinking about playing can get a general idea about PvE/Mission workings and combat versus NPCs. Music is from in-game.

So you dont actually "fly" the ship or "dog fight" in the traditional sence? Like in the old skool of the Elite Trilogy?

@1TB0T Not really no. While the backstory basically says that you are in full control of the ship (You're plugged into it like in the matrix) and you look at your ship fromt he outside, it plays more like you 'command' your ship. (Select where it goes, tell it to lock on, tell it to fire and so on.

Sadly not twith based, but still pretty fun.

I suggest Star Wars Galaxies, for space/twitch flight. It has excellent space combat which is cockpit based.

@thooko The wholepoint and click combat really turned me off, i'd ratherbe able to use the WASD keys to stear the vessel, even if it was firing on it's own.

You might want to consider the game Black Prophecy that's coming soon. It's a free to play Cockpit View/3rd person Space Combat / Flight Sim.

Sort of, It's mostly based on flight and in-cockpit spaceship control, you fly manually, but it does have skilsl you can spend points into, like you can shoose to put your skill points into missiles, or engines, or shields, to unlock the ability to use better equipment.

It's pretty good.

One thing I really like about EVE, its complex interface and incredibly steep learning curve scare off most immature and stupid people. You hardly ever run into trolls and idiots in EVE. :)

@thooko I'll check that out. And if you are into managing empires and like RTS, try Novus Aeterno, its a lot like Eve, but a different approach. MMORTS

haha i like those game where you use wsad and mouse to control just like free lancer . not like controling a whole mother ship xd
