  • SNL should've tried using this smaller band instead of utilizing too many horns during the 1980-1981 season.

I recall seing Belzer doing a skit where he was a late night radio talk show host. I could have sworn it was on Friday's. And you are right he was never on the show. What I did find out was that he was a stand up comic among other things, he made a few stand in appearances on SNL. Maybe thats where I saw him?

  • you're right the closing theme was great - it can get stuck in your head and not wanna leave.... PS i bet they had a lot of great post show parties.....

  • @italobambino43 Michael Richards yes not Anthony, not to split hairs...... and Richard Belzer? he was never on Fridays, not even as a guest.... they did have a lot of varied great music guests, many who made their first tv appearances on Fridays...... would be nice to see a DVD release that is for sure.

Original Cast of SNL, Yes..I agree...But by the time this was on you could hear the sound of a great sucking wind coming from SNL even in Space.

I recall with Fridays, the musical guests ran the gambit, from Wendy O'williams, Journey, Jefferson Starship,Devo and The B 52's. Fridays launched the careers of Anthony Richards, Melanie Chartoff and Richard Belzer. I remember I wasn't to involved with the show, I just liked the musical guests. Some of the comedy sketches were similar to SNL. You can't compare this crew to original cast of SNL. I think this crew was good in their own right.

  • Fuckin' Pissed me off that this didn't last and goddamn SNL still lumbers on. This is on DVD? I NEED to find this!
