DemocracyNow.org -
President Obama has unveiled a budget plan seeking to trim the federal deficit by cutting or eliminating some 200 federal programs, many dedicated to social services and education, while increasing military spending and funding for the construction of nuclear power plants. Announcing his $3.7 trillion proposal, Obama touted his previously stated pledge to freeze funding for domestic programs outside of the military for five years. Obama's plan includes two modest tax hikes for banks and oil companies. It also calls for ending the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans in 2013 and returning the estate tax to its higher 2009 levels. For analysis of Obama's proposed budget, Democracy Now! interviews John Nichols, Washington correspondent for The Nation magazine.

Careful writing speech NOT gonna changing anything

lier Obama as always, he increase debt to now to a whopping 7 trillion in his turn to tax payer

american are dumb indeed, they can't do nothing !

  • @MyTube22T

    Indeed

Your 'Freedom is fading in America'? No truer speech - especially the Wolf analogy

  • They made the tough decision for the poor and the elderly but not for the Rich and the telecoms.

  • @MyTube22T It's called KARMA!

  • The golden god of "Liberals" exposed again...

  • @Eternity7MMfan He doesn't make the decisions. Don't worry he's not suppose to be re-elected cause the establishment wants to see the right wing "war" party elected so they can go to war with Iran. And then, 4/8 years later you'll vote again for the lesser evil again(democrats) and so on... I can be sure that's whats going to happen but i have a feeling...

And don't trust these media as they, on 1 level or an other, complicit.

  • "Military Spending Increases and Deep Cuts to Social Programs"

I thought we DIDN'T elect a Republican for president!

  • Don't touch that military spending !!! The American multinationals need that free R&D the American taxpayers pay for. What would the multinationals do if they did not get free technology development via the military complex that they offshore to low wage countrys for manufacture????

  • Wow! Social cuts? One could get the impression that President Obama really does not want to be reelected and maybe is trying to say that only if people take to the streets and make it very clear, only then defense spending cuts could become an issue for the US. You guys really have to put up with a lot of crap.

  • Life in my country is becoming a nightmare.
