@DragonUltraMaster NEVER EVER DO THAT! If you are desperate, use a Sega Genesis model 1 power adapter. The NES adapter will fry your system.

Do you know if I can use an NES adaptor to the Famicom? *Normal one*
It says 9 volts and the NES adapter gives 9 volt.. the only diffrentces are the Watts.

what power supply are you using for this, i just picked one up and i don't want to fry it with the worn voltage or polarity. thanks

I'm using it's ORIGINAL a.c.100V power supply
I remember it also could works with NEC's INTERFACE UNIT power supply
(Dia.2.5mm d.c. plug) outer is ' - ' 10-12V ~1A will be fine.

Maybe you can remove the yellowing from the button by soaking it in some hydrogen peroxide mixed with a little oxi clean laundry powder and exposing it to the sun for a while.
