When a country is being flushed down the shitter do we really have time for shit like affirmative action? I don't think so, it should be the best person for the job period. As a black I think affirmitative action helps perpetuate the notion that blacks are not smart or qualified enough to get jobs, promotions on their own. It was good back then and it should be changed. I believe in affimative action that is needs and class based not race and gender based. You include everyone with this model of affirmative action based on class and needs. I teach low income and poor kids black and white who perform very well academically.

sotomayor is on the Supreme Court because she is a Mexican , Clarence Thomas is on the Court because he is black and Obama got the Nobel Prize because he is black. Anyone who denies that is just fooling himself.
