Does anyone know when this was recorded? Since I hear a violin and a whistle I think, it could have been the time when Ciaran Bourke was still with the Dubliners.

Where was this concert taking place Kelly.I am sure this song was on the 'Revolution' album which I have always maintained was the Dubs best album

My grandfather was one of the peat bog soldiers. I know the song (German version) from my childhood days, and it always moves me to tears...
