  • Does anyone know if this Mass setting will be revised?

  • @TheHoliness2 - absolutely. All the major publishing houses (GIA, OCP, World Library, etc) are revising their Mass settings that are currently in use. The Sanctus movements basically right themselves; the Gloria's are a bit thornier.

  • @VisitStPeters Thank you. Eventhough my parish is still using Creation, I love this Mass Setting. It is more traditional to me.

  • I am a huge fan of all the works of Richard Proulx.I wish i had discovered his works sooner.May he rest in peace. Our parish just started using parts of the Community mass in the last year and i love it!The Mass for the city is great as well although my parish doesnt use that.I am looking forward to receiving the new revised versions of Proulx's mass settings for use with the coming new mass.I doubt much will change organwise, but should be fun to play just like the original.

  • I appreciated your note In Memoriam: Richard Proulx.

He served at Holy Childhood in St Paul MN for 15 years during the 50's and 60's. His work there, directing the Men and Boys' Schola Cantorum (often with orchestra) from the console inspired my interest in music when a teenager, as I'm sure it did for many others. The church's music program remains at a high level today.
