A Christian friend of mine played this at a gas station in (1998) Bellevue, WA for hours. At first we turned it off when customers walked in the door. Then we got into the whole kareoke sing along routine, the music would play while our voices took a break while patrons shopped, everyone was in awe at this new sound. Some said it felt like they walked into church. He would throw in names of Christos with Gregorian chants. So nice.

Is Sting a Krishna devotee? The reason I wonder is not only this song, but also in a 1982 interview with George Harrison, Mukunda Goswami said that The Police were among the groups who requested prasadam (vegetarian foods that have been spiritualized by being offered to Krishna) served to them backstage.
