Good playing, though can somebody explain to me how the heck he plays a whole meter away from the Mic (Sm58) and still be heard perfectly??

Well an Sm58 is pretty directional so it's possible they have him turned up really hot to pick up the whistle. The other instruments are quite directional themselves and with the SURE Sm58's it's easy to pick up one thing out of a group like that... And tin whistles are top-end heavy which the 58 can pick up quite well. it handles the melody so well too because of its design...
