@woolfl Too bad to be you. Try researching some blues history and find yourself a veritable treasure trove of female vocalists many with this very style. She is one of many fine singers in this genre. Tell me more about Neko but let me plug a vein first to get in the mood. In other words , don't open your pie hole if you don't know shit, youngster.

I think I just came.

Does anyone else get the feeling they could fall asleep to her voice? Definately not my genre, but I honestly like this.

@woolfl hey not to be a dick, but these aren't her lyrics, I don't know if you explored here, but she DOES have soul

21st century Billy Holliday... great voice

Don't see the appeal frankly. Seems she is singing in a safe 2nd person " you do this feeble thing, that feeble thing, she overthrows you with her beauty and prowess etc, etc" . Given, that is a form typical of early lounge style but "little bits of beauty everywhere" seems like bad writing, meaningless and vague. Ok, Ok, if it's art and you like it, who I am to opinionate it away. I'll go listen to Ray LaMontagne, Neko Case, or Cocorosie and enjoy myself. Just wanted to mix the fan fest some.

despite her name, she is american, born in athens, georgia. as we are a nation of immigrants, such things do happen. what is interesting is that she has a;sp spent years and years in france, so in way she must have drank back her heritage as she has progressed through the years. but of course, none of these facts really matters. she has a beautiful transcending voice, and what do aritificial national boundaries matter when we are all affected by such a human voice : )
