graham, you did a wonderful job there! did you make any progress with the machine? what rails/motor/controller are you using?

@squaredade Thanks! I have never got around to building a big machine, too many projects and too little time! The rails are IKO or THK, very small ones though. The motors and belts came from Epson printers. The controller is Mach3 running out of the parallel port into a standard bipolar stepper driver.
