The township of Mount Holly, N.J., has been systematically destroying the Gardens—a close-knit community of over 300 garden-style row homes—for the past decade. Officials want to hand the property over to Keating Urban Partners, for luxury townhomes and apartments. This is what happens when eminent domain is abused for private gain.

  • @mictheorist These ARE the projects. Dilapidated, filthy buildings long neglected and in need of a wrecking ball!

  • Close knit community? Not since the military families left back in the 70's. Since that time it has been a major crime-infested, drug-filled, cesspool! Mount Holly tried to work with the community to clean it up and remove the criminal elements (even opening an satellite police station inside the community) but the crime persisted. The homes are mostly in shambles and the place is an embarrassment to the town as a whole. The Gardens is a perfect example of WHY Emminent Domain should be used!

  • The sad part is the stupid local politicians who came up with this eminent domain idea are long gone. Most likely retired with generous pensions paid by tax payers. After millions of dollars in legal costs, this issue is still far from resolved..

    .

  • I feel for these people. Anyone know if IJ has been able to stop the actions of Mayor Gibson. He should get this solved and help these people get an equivalent home and not use tax payers money to evict them.

  • this a low intensity war against the people... organize, become warriors and put Obama in blame for selling us out to his masters...

  • sorry typo. Our war is at washington D.C and not abroad. But be careful, thy will gear up with carcasses boxes, detention centers, they could be expecting a revolution here at home and our representatives are most likely to do not care, they have been bought in a nation of sociopaths and capitalism... anything can happen...

  • that is correct... why go and fight for the fukn rich pirates who care for nothing but to take somone's culture, land and resources. We have a war to fight here at home and it starts over at the District of criminals and puppets who have sold us out to their masters as whores. Our enemy is not in Washington D.C and not other people abroad..

  • @voiceofwade The solution for crime is law enforcement, not the confiscation of property.

  • What this report is not telling you is the rampant drug selling and gun violence that has plagued "The Gardens" for years. I feel for my neighbors across the bypass. The unfortunate thing is that 90% of the residents didn't care as much as these three individuals. The first time I drove through, taking a wrong turn, I was warned not to drive through there at night. With little exception, there was NO pride in this neighborhood.

  • Progressives aka "liberals" aka Democrats believe the ALL property and money actually belongs to gov't and that We, the People are just "allowed" to keep some of what gov't owns.

I'll bet a month's pay that these people vote Democrat!

I'll also bet a month's pay that these people will CONTINUE to vote Democrat!
