Officially named The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, this unit consists of twenty-four Marines performing a 10-minute precision drill exhibition. They first performed at Marine Barracks, Washington, DC in 1948 as a single performance, but received such a tremendous ovation that it soon became a regular part or routine parades. • can you imagine the amount of training that goes into making a display like this? amazing!

  • Over the years, I have developed a deep respect for the USMC, as well as our other Armed Forces. Did you know that only 1% of our entire population consists of those men and women currently in our combined armed forces? Let's pray that they come home safely to their families and friends. For those of you who hate war, I'm among you, but we still have to stand by this country we live in and keep in mind these men and women are there to keep the bell of freedom ringing. Don't cross me!!!

  • @jessie74 How does this cost tax dollars? People pay to see this. It raises money. This displays discipline and uniformity, so it's kind of like an advertisement in a way. Them learning the drill teaches discipline and it teaches them to handle their weapon a lot better.

  • @McStanky1

Please explain how this circus show is keeping our Country safe.

Please convince me that this is a useful expenditure of our tax dollars.

  • @jessie74 You're really not too bright, are you?

  • Sad to see our hard earned taxpayer money funding this circus show.

    Ron Paul 2012 !

  • Do they ever go to other countrys and perform?

  • After being in my Naval Junior ROTC Unit for two years in high school, We've only got down the very first 25 seconds down of this routine. It can be done, I think this will help us win our next Drill Meet. Like if you think so!

  • @nextlifearotti yeah i know my rotc unit is attempting to recreate the first few minuets of this routine

  • yea buddy its all about the marines corp

  • @mckinley1175 Its a B-Billet which is usually a 2 year thing. They have there original MOS, they just do this for a couple years to look good on promotions. Also the Silent Drill Platoon is one of the most prestigious jobs, anyone who got selected for it should be extremely honored.

  • I love the part where they spank their asses =)
