This is to demonstrate a new set of strings, now they are settled.

There are 3 tunes here -
Main item - Sugar Plum Fairy by Pyotr Tchaikovsky (with experimental headstock camera mounting!)
Grazioso in G by Mauro Giuliani
Prelude in G by Matteo Carcassi - I suppose being a guitarlele both of these move up to key of C?
The second 2 tunes get a lot of play as I use them to make sure all strings are in accord, a final fine tuning.

The strings are -
1st - Augustine Blue (no info on gauge but they seem high tension to me)
2nd - Augustine Blue
3rd - Pro Arte J4503C Exclusive composite (coffee colour)
4th - Pro Arte J4504C Exclusive composite 'Zyex' core long life
5th - Pro Arte J4505C Exclusive composite 'Zyex' core long life
6th - Pro Arte J4506C Exclusive composite 'Zyex' core long life

Not sure any other combo can better this. I like the 'brilliance' of a wound 4th string, I'm happy with them and Pro Arte claim 3 or 4 times normal lifespan for the wound strings. If so that will be great.

  • Hi, it is a slightly embellished transcription from a book called Popular Classics Of The Great Composers (Vol 4) by Jason Waldron. The 2 short fast races were put in by me as it sounded a bit 'pedestrian' otherwise

  • Nice work on your guitarlele! Is that your own arrangement?
