Fallout 3 Trader Glitch

To do this glitch the trader needs to have two of an item (weapon or apparel only) either by you selling them one of the same or both of the same or if they already have two in their inventory. Just do what the video shows buy the cheaper one and sell it back a couple times. This glitch works with most traders and scavengers in the Fallout 3 Wasteland. With Bannon in Rivet City you will only be able to use apparel because that is all he sells. This glitch will not work with traders that only sell in the "Aid" category, i.e. Doc Hoff, Doc Church, any of the food traders, or "A Quick Fix" I do not believe that it will work with Crazy Wolfgang either because he deals with the "Misc" category. In short if you sell the trader an item of apparel or a weapon and it automatically disappears from their inventory you cannot do this glitch with that trader. The higher the value of the item is in perfect condition the better this will work. I advise saving just before trying this glitch to see which items will work for you.

Try a different weapon. Some items do not work. There are a few items that work all the time and some items that work some of the time with some of the traders. If you look at my total caps you will see It isn't some random fluke/rubbish glitch. Save BEFORE trying an item you are unsure of. The glitch can work backwards at times, like you experienced.

I went to this trader's weapons inventory list and saw he had three (3) Laser Pistols. Knowing that Laser Pistols are rather valuable when fully repaired I decided to buy the cheapest one. Then I sold it back to him. I then proceeded to purchase the EXACT SAME Laser Pistol from him. After a few rounds of buying and selling the same Laser Pistol it glitched to fully repaired in my inventory and not glitched in his thus allowing me to continually sell the perfect item til I had everything I wanted

i had a WAY weirder glitch i was trying that shoping cheat and i wasnt doing it right so i decided to shop normaly then the items disapeared the text box can under the blank shop screen then my compas started going crazy and other crap so i just decided to turn it off and i still havnt turned it back on

this glitch doesnt work i tried doin this but say i sell 1 back to him he charges me bout 10 caps more so im constantly losing and the more i do it the more he charges and the less that i can it sell ii for sorry mate but rubbish glitch and total fluke :(

This is a very helpful trick, Just tried it today (May 12, 2009) so I could afford the schematics from the wandering travelers.
