It must be a very hard to firing a torpedo to a zero speeded frigate by using radar and all other masses.

I was a seaman on the thraki 457 (uss trippe 1075)
back in '92
brought it back from navel base Newport Rhode Island
to greece .
some good memories from back then and
sort of feeling sad at watching this video......

USS TRIPPE FF-1075, this is her at the end. U-209 had an easy mark. How could they miss? Sounds like a chinese fire drill on that sub, as if they really pulled something off. SHIT! If Trippe was activated and patrolling with her sonar systems... it's U-209 that would be going to the bottom. They have bottles of wine lined up ready to celibrate the sinking of my old ship.... those bastards! U-209 will make a nice target it's self one of these days and get the deep six....

I am very surprised at only one thing..........they guys are supposed to be completely quiet, even during an exercise. Silence on a submarine comes first among everything for the men. It has to do with detection in case anyone does not understand. Yes you are supposed to simulate that during exercise.
