In the forties a stone pillar or stela was found face down in Coba on the Yucatan Peninsula. Coba is one of the few Mayan sites which was inhabited during both the Classical and Postclassical periods. A rubbing was done then with crisp detail. It was the key to the long-count and its relation to the Mayan Pyramid Structure.
Dr. Carl Johan Calleman earned a PhD. in Molecular Biology from the University of Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Calleman has studied the Mayan Calendar for many years. He has brought together the findings of many different fields of study to the unlocking of the Mayan Calendar mystery.
He first presented his findings in 2000 with the book "Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time: The Mayan Calendar" and followed up with "The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness" in 2004. And "The Purposeful Universe", published in 2009, presents his latest theories.
In his website article, http://www.calleman.com/content/articles/nov8_sixth_night.htm The Final Mayan calendar steps to 2012, he points to the end of the nine evolutionary levels or underworlds as being the end of all shifts or cycles in evolution and the attainment of the highest quantum state of the universe. He also states the belief that the spiritual awakening ahead will not be something that can be put into words, but instead a heartfelt knowing.
In 1998 Ian Xel Lungold met with Mayan elder Don Alejandro Perez Oxlaj to verify Ian's Conversion Codex. He was assured it was correct. In 1999, Ian had his Calendar / Conversion Codex printed in Mexico and began its sale and distribution. Dr. Calleman had received word of Ian's Conversion Codex and sent Ian a copy of the manuscript for his first book. Ian and Dr. Calleman moved to Cancun, Mexico were they worked together to find a publisher. Dr. Calleman's theories became the primary source for Ian's Calendar Talks and the mayanmajix web site. Ian passed away in Nov. 2005, but the legacy and inspiration of his work remains.
