The Things You Learn In Sunday School (Part 4) - Adam & Eve and God's Curse on the Human Race

I struggled with the exact same thoughts when hearing the story of adam and eve in church. I think by far the most disturbing aspect of christianity though is the brutal concept of hell. How can a person who calls himself/herself a christian live a happy life and sing their worship songs to God every sunday while simultaneously believing in their hearts that it is the same God who has damned the vast majority of humanity to an eternal torment of hopelessness?

Just a little more information for your video subscribers. In Genesis 3:9 But the Lord God called to the man. "Where are you?" What the hell is this from an omniscient god. Again, as always sounds like man made bullshit.

One man's theology is another man's belly laugh.

If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people.

MtlRedAtheist, in regards to your question about the reality of Creation, you're correct, there is no hard evidence, it's all a matter of faith. For a long time i tried to figure out the strange and mysterious things of the Bible, but it didn't make any sense. But ever since that day, 29 years ago when i cried out to God to forgive me, He kind of opened my eyes to what it means to have faith like a little child. I'm not a religious guy, I'm just one who had his eyes opened by God.

@OMFGitsLINDZ Hi, thanks for commenting. I think that is awesome your teacher showed this in a religion class today. That is funny! About what you said, "Even though Adam & Eve may not have known any better, they still had freewill." What good is free will if they didn't know right from wrong? How can you give someone the choice while withholding the knowledge of good and evil, and then punish them for unwittingly choosing evil? Seems unfair.
Well I think God should correct his errors and rewrite the Bible. Or better yet let Goddess teach us to understand our true nature and just realize that the Bible was really written by a man who thought he was a priest of somekind, seeking power of somekind over someone else.

Its funny, because my teacher actually showed this video in religion class today. As you can telll, i go to a private Catholic High School. So, yes I do believe in God, and everything tht he has done. Although, while watching this, I do understand some of your points in the video, about how tht God knew the outcome of Eve and Adam's decisions. Basically, your saying that you think God is to blame the fall of man. Although, I disagree. I believe that it was Adam & Eve to blame

@OMFGitsLINDZ Curious, was there any discussion on this in your religion class? I think that's pretty cool.

@MtlRedAtheist Yup, he like showed this to us. Afterwards, he asked our thoughts. Actually, most of my class agreed with most of your points, and that alot of them make sense. Even though we all still believe in God and his goodness, we still wonder about this points too.

@OMFGitsLINDZ Well, that's awesome. Keep thinking about this stuff. Don't let anyone tell you how to think. Whatever you conclude in the end, it will be the result of careful consideration. Take care. :)
