  • Whole Lotta outta-fucking-tune. ::cringes::

    Cool video though regardless.

  • @thygod Yep, that was my attempt at the Jimmy Page version. He is an amazing guitar player, but is sloppy as all hell. He likes to bend the D string in this song to get that double note effect.

  • All I can hear is a bit more tinny and buzzy sound with the single coil pickup guitars...the Fenders. Humbucker at the bridge sounds pretty much the same and what little variation could be probably dialed in at the amp. Just shows tone is mostly the amp and pickups

  • @guitarcapo For the most part, especially with today's guitars, I'd agree with that statement.

  • This is very interesting to me as it unveils my horrible bias. Undoubtedly I would never be able to match the guitars to the tones blindly. However, while looking at the video, I automatically confirm my own bias by judging the "best" as being the Les Paul and the Tele as those are the ones I care most about. I'm not sure what to do with the knowledge that my preferences are an attempt to reinforce ideas formed in childhood and that I am living a self deception, but thanks for the enlightenment!

  • @brucedburns I hear ya! I'm a fan of the Ibanez AR300, yet it's tone is not as crisp as some of the other guitars here.

  • Outside of the Les Paul being the best, the strat and the takamine gx100 would both come in a close second for me in WLL

  • Your penis is showing 1:34

  • Lol @ the tele

  • I also have tons of guitars and this video reconfirmed my belief....Strats have the most pleasing, musical tone - especially for chords. But some songs require a Les Paul.

  • Wow. Between guitars with the same setup, there just doesn't seem to be any difference. Try listening to the vid, eyes closed.

    Yeah, all of a sudden, owning multiple electrics with the same setup doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. And when an $800 dollar guitar sounds identical to a $2000 guitar...well...

  • DIG THOSE DEVO MOVES!

    Differences-In general- single coil then humbuckers w/hotter-lower output
