Dec 2006. Diving the wreck of a WW2 Japanese Betty bomber near Eten island in Truk Lagoon (Chuuk) in Micronesia. Diving an Inspiration closed circuit rebreather (CCR). Look at that perfect viz. At the end of the clip you can see our dive boat up on the surface. This plane wreck is shallow - about 20m.

  • GREAT VIDEO, where did you find this Mitsubishi G4-M3 ?

  • Location is in description. It is in Truk Lagoon (also known as Chuuk) in the Federated States of Micronesia in the Western Pacific (about 1.5 hours flight southwest of Guam).

  • what sorta depth you guys at there? with that vis and the boat being so clear im going to say around 45 meters? is he diving an inspiration?

  • Depth is a little less than 20m. The rebreather is an Inspiration but without the plastic casing.

  • thanks

  • basic scuba, is a tank on your back.

you inhale from the tank +exhale bubbles.

a rebreather has a "scrubber" system,

that scrubs the co2 as you exhale back into the system (not out as bubbles)

it has a system for detecting +regulating the O2 % you are breathing....

  • Nice footage...The Betty bomber was one of my first dives in Truk...I remember it well....Cant wait to go back!..Thanks for psoting.

  • I know some guys who go there a lot. I hope to go to truk someday :)
