One individual changing the world for the better is internationally acclaimed film and stage actor Jason Scott Lee, who is making an inspiring effort to live more sustainably off the grid--and on water catchment--at his natural taro farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. A great example of how everyone can make changes in our daily lives that improve the health of the environment and our relationship with our fellow beings. Please visit www.LivingPono.com. i am a big admirer of JSL, but the hawaiians, like all human cultures, has had an negative impact on the natural order of things. there are many animals and birds, probably plants that became extinct due to the polynesians arriving on the islands of hawaii.

I used to live like this when I was younger..Even though now I enjoy today's luxuries, I still miss getting hot water in a pot and taking a bath, or just sittin back and watching the birds poke at the window, nice & quiet. Something you don't get the experience in the city.

For a guy who is such a talented actor to choose such an amazingly unselfish path is truly impressive. The simplicity of his life and his seeming peace of min and happiness is something we should aspire to. In the Western world we've all been infected by materialism and consumption.
