Using a Heat Press, we demonstrate the procedure for applying a dye sublimation transfer to create a personalised ceramic tile. The transfer is created using a standard inkjet printer and Visi-Sub sublimation inks on VisiJet Sublimation Printing Paper.

  • What kind of paper do you use and do ya need special ink?

  • What is the Make of your Press??? Also how much would it cost for say a 16 x 24 ???

  • what is the temperature and time required for transfer ?

  • The exact model of printer and the software isn't that important. The critical part is that you must use dye sublimation ink and a printer profile. So find out which models of printer they sell cartridges for, and what software supports printer profiles. The tiles are not just any tiles, they are coated with a special polymer (polyester) coating that absorbs the dye in the heat press.

There is a cheaper version of Photoshop, there is Corel Photopaint, although I prefer Corel PaintShop Pro.

  • great video what kind of printer do you use to make your transfer and kind of software? it is safe and won't get scrath when you do it in tile.
