I have come back now! I'm sorry for the mini hiatus because I had to do exams and I am now doing labs where I am beginning to learn how to compound drugs on Thursdays, so I had a busy time. But this is a very special project for me, and I actually completed this in just a couple of hours. Almost 2 weeks ago, a dream of mine came true when I finally got to see my all time favorite band, U2, in concert. They were pretty good seats too. Anyway, they were PHENOMENAL, as I expected them to be. The song I decided to use for my latest AMV was the last song in their set. It's from their latest album, and it has quickly become one of my favorite songs of theirs, even though it's a doozy at 7 1/2 minutes long. Even my mom, who was primarily familiar with their stuff from before I was born and who went to the concert with me, loved it. It's even better live. I knew I had to use this for Princess Tutu. This focuses on the internal struggles of the main characters as they struggle to be more than what they were written to be, but they "do not notice the passers by and they do not notice them." Until the finale. The song is "Moment of Surrender" by U2. I DO NOT OWN THE MATERIAL! Enjoy!
Lyrics: I tied myself with wire To let the horses roam free Playing with the fire Until the fire played with me
The stone was semi-precious We were barely conscious Two souls too smart to be In the realm of certainty Even on our wedding day
We set ourselves on fire Oh God, do not deny her Its not if I believe in love If love believes in me Oh, believe in me
At the moment of surrender I folded to my knees I did not notice the passers-by And they did not notice me
Ive been in every black hole At the altar of the dark star My bodys now a begging bowl Thats begging to get back, begging to get back To my heart To the rhythm of my soul To the rhythm of my unconsciousness To the rhythm that yearns To be released from control
I was punching in the numbers at the ATM machine I could see in the reflection A face staring back at me At the moment of surrender Of vision over visibility I did not notice the passers-by And they did not notice me
I was speeding on the subway Through the stations of the cross Every eye looking every other way Counting down til the train would stop
At the moment of surrender Of vision of over visibility I did not notice the passers-by And they did not notice me
