This is 2 and 1/2 hours worth of brushing and probably 4 more hours worth to go. Plus this stuff floats all over my house and settles on everything, even in your food. I even have to cover my couches. So make sure you want a Husky and can handle one before you get one. Do your research.

  • How OFTEN do they need to be brushed?

  • @Wh40kFinatic Well when they are shedding it should be at least twice a week and when they aren't you should brush them about two or 3 times a month. When there not shedding I usually brush them for about 15 mins per brushing...but when they are shedding it's about a 30 min brushing.

  • @Wh40kFinatic I would suggest more than just twice a week though....I brush like every other day when they are shedding. Or "Blowing Coat" as it's called.

  • Well if you don't brush them it will fall out very slowly by itself and depending on where you live it might not all fall out by the time the dog is growing new fur for the winter. I guess it also depends on if your gonna have the dog inside or outside. Plus brushing just helps them lose the coat that much faster. It basically takes out all the loose fur that's just sitting there. I recommend for an inside dog at least twice a week and for an outside dog at least twice a month or so.

  • It is worth it though! They are great dogs I don't think I could live with out my Kahlan she is my girl.

  • @soliscjw Oh hell ya it's worth it! She's our Nova Baby! :-)

  • @myprincess231 Ya they are well worth it!

  • Nothing will change my mind almost every time I'm covers in dog hair all over

  • @Onikafaree Oh ya it gets in the food and in your drinks too. In your mouth and nose the worst though. Haha!

  • @BebiiKeeki Haha! Ya we should...that's interesting.

  • I'm only worried about the fur getting in my food. >_<

  • Wowzers you can make another dog with that fur. Oh on animal planet there's this groomer who makes bags and stuff from the hair. :/

  • @Malvado692 Ya this was our first double coated dog and the first time I had to brush a dog. It takes half the time now and we get twice as much. We have better brushes now too. That was her first shedding and she is going on 3 now.

  • you need a furminator cut that time a bit

  • @nesteaC Haha! Sounds awesome! Sometimes we really think about saving it all and making pillows with it.

  • @Littlebluetrike Yes that is why we brush her. Those poor puppies not getting brushed is wrong.
