On this day in 1960 {February 10th} the Champs performed "Too Much Tequila" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'...

About three weeks earlier on January 18th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #30 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100...

The group had two other charted records with the word tequila in the title; "Tequila" {#1 in 1958} and "Tequila Twist" {#99 in 1962}...

R.I.P. Saxophonist Danny Flores {1929 - 2006} and Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012}...

You wonderful person for putting this great clip on for me to see. In the 60's I really thought the Shadows were the first to put steps into their act, not so the Champs were doing it very well in 1959. This great music with so much life in brings tears to my eyes cause it's just wonderful.
