The Casimir Effect uses a brand new method to levitate a playing card. Up close, in full light.

The card is laying absolutely flat on the table, or another card. It is a self contained levitation that uses none of the traditional gimmicks. It lends itself easily to a story about quantum physics and the mysterious phenomenon of the actual Casimir effect.

The card can even levitate while a spectator has their hand on it. Fearson's Casimir Effect uses no threads, wires or magnets. Yes, it looks like magnetic levitation but there are NO MAGNETS used.

The card can even be signed and given to the spectator to keep as a souvenir.

  • Based on Ben Harris' ALIDA from 2000. Hopefully it is credited appropriately.

    Hi Ben!

Actually it's nothing even remotely similar to Alida.

Now I'm going to expect a quote if I manage to get this to market :)

  • this cant possibly be a quantum vaccuum. cards arent solid plates and even if they were you would need a special lens to make the force repel. this is confusing because if there are no strings or magnets what makes it levitate?

  • Hi Steve,

    My apologies for assuming.

    Cheers
